Would anyone like to suggest what this object, which was attached to the ceiling in the old Ticket Office at Wingfield Station, might be?
The last photo shows where it was located - circled in yellow. Please note that the other fitting just along from this has a wooden pattress as opposed to metal, and is a gas light fitting.
We have some theories, but we know there are lot of knowledgeable folk out there so we’d love to hear your thoughts!
