Understanding Lime & Lime Pointing - 5th July 2025

Yesterday was our first ‘Hands on Heritage Skills: Understanding Lime and Lime Pointing’ day led by SPAB Fellow, Richard Jordan.

8 people gathered together for the one-day workshop to learn all about lime and to get hands-on pointing a historic Derbyshire Field Barn in Wirksworth.

Topics covered included health and safety, understanding lime, mixing mortars, stonework, chasing mortar joints out and pointing stonework.
