There's still time to join Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust for a very special guided visit to the magnificent Melbourne Hall Gardens this Thursday!

Recognised as one of the finest surviving examples of an early 18th-century English garden, Melbourne Hall Gardens are a remarkable celebration of historic landscape design, with beautiful formal gardens, fascinating architectural features and a rich heritage to discover.

Thanks to the generosity of Lord Lothian and the team at Melbourne Hall, we have been given a rare opportunity to explore the gardens outside the usual visitor season.

We'll be joined by Head Gardener David James, who will share the stories behind the gardens and their historic features, including the extraordinary Grade II listed Birdcage arbour, created by celebrated Derbyshire ironsmith Robert Bakewell.

The visit was originally arranged for volunteers involved in our South Derbyshire Buildings at Risk project, offering an opportunity to discover some of the fascinating listed structures within the grounds. However, we felt this was an experience too special not to share!

Everyone is welcome – whether you're interested in historic buildings, garden history, Derbyshire's heritage, or simply fancy a lovely morning exploring somewhere special.

Don't miss out – book your place today!

With the visit taking place this Thursday, there's not long left to secure your place.

Thursday 29th October | 10.30am

We hope to see you there!
