Join us on Sunday 25th May for a walk around the hill village of Bonsall, looking at the Field Barns and their restoration currently underway by the Bonsall Field Barn Project.
We follow in the footsteps of lead miners, as well as the farmers that used these barns for milking their cattle. It is remarkable how these little field barns helped to create the first factory farm system that could consistently feed a huge workforce of Millworkers in the village of Cromford.
The footpaths create a stunningly beautiful walk, with abundant White Peak wildflowers in bloom. Starting from the Bonsall Cross, we will walk up Stepping Lane and onto the Dale, finishing in the tiny dry stone walled fields of Fairy Lane. The Fountain cafe is at the end of the walk for those who would like refreshments.
