A second recognition at our Awards for Hobcroft Field Barn.
Standing quietly amid the upland pastures of the Peak District, Hobcroft Field Barn has been beautifully repaired and conserved, ensuring this humble yet significant part of Derbyshire’s rural landscape continues to serve its original agricultural purpose.
Led by Evans Vettori Architects Ltd for @peakdistrictnationalpark the project focused on the sensitive repair of a traditional field barn using local materials and traditional building techniques.
The work restored structural integrity while maintaining the barn’s authenticity, character, and contribution to its historic setting.
Judges commended the project for its subtlety, craftsmanship and deep respect for the vernacular landscape, describing it as “a model of quiet excellence in rural conservation.”
