A huge thank you to all our fantastic Buildings at Risk volunteers who have been helping us tackle the ‘cold spots’ in South Derbyshire this spring.
Thanks to your continued efforts, we’re confident these areas will soon be complete.
We’re also delighted to share that our Erewash survey, launched in January, has been progressing at an incredible pace. The enthusiasm and dedication shown by volunteers has been outstanding, and we’re now down to just eight Grade II listed buildings left to survey across the district.
Could you help us with this final push?
Every building recorded brings us closer to completing the Erewash survey, allowing us to expand into new areas of the county and continue working with local authority partners to protect Derbyshire’s vulnerable historic sites.
Current Erewash ‘cold spots’
Dale Abbey and surrounding area: 1205326, 1328837, 1329240
Ockbrook: 1334826
Risley: 1204413
Stanton-by-Dale: 1140419, 1206015
West Hallam: 1206126
How to find these buildings in the B@R app
Finding and surveying these sites is simple:
To search by list number:
Open the B@R app and tap Layers on the map screen
Select Listed Buildings
Enter the list number in the search bar
To view all unsurveyed buildings in Erewash:
Tap More
Select Map themes
Choose Not surveyed Erewash
Unsurveyed buildings will appear highlighted in bright blue
A quick note on accessibility
Some of these ‘cold spots’ may not be visible from a public right of way. If that’s the case, marking them as ‘Not accessible’ is still incredibly helpful, as it allows us to share accurate information with our local authority partners.
Don’t forget to sync
Once you’ve completed your survey, remember to tap ‘Sync’ on the main map screen so your data is uploaded and visible to the team and other volunteers.
