After yet another fire at the Derby Hippodrome last month it was feared that the building may be in danger of collapse, the city building surveyor has now announced that this is not the case and the building is safe. However, the building is not safe to enter and this should not be attempted without the supervision of a qualified engineer.
The building is currently owned by Blake Finance a London based bank who have previously said that there had been "quite strong interest" in developing the site.
Another group who also have an interest in the site are the Hippodrome Restoration Trust who would like to turn the building back into a working theatre.
The building is on our list of case study buildings and we are currently talking to the members of the Hippodrome Trust to confirm our involvement.
