Dronfield Hall Barn

We had our quarterly board meeting at the fabulous Dronfield Hall Barn on the 9th June.

Dronfield Hall Barn, a Grade II* timber-framed structure, is believed to have originated as a medieval Manor House. It was later repurposed as a barn in the 17th century.

A dendrochronological analysis of timber samples showed that the tree rings span AD 1341-1429! Sapwood indicates the timbers were likely felled around AD 1429, meaning construction occurred in or shortly after that year.

The building has been beautifully restored and is definitely worth a visit - including a lovely cafe and gardens.

It’s a hub for education, culture and community engagement - celebrating both the medieval roots of the building and the history of the surrounding area.

You can even get married there!

We’ll definitely be back.
