We held our quarterly Board Meeting at Farmer’s View (Hurst Farm Social Club) in Matlock on Monday.

Afterwards, some of the team enjoyed a guided walk led by Hurst Farm - Wild Works staff members Louise (Ranger) and Emma (Social Media Coordinator).

They introduced us to their The National Lottery Heritage Fund project, delivered in partnership with Derbyshire Dales.

We learnt more about the newly created Heritage Trail, designed to reveal the Estate’s hidden heritage and share the community’s own stories.

Our walk took us to Bailey’s Tump and the Wishing Stone and we explored how these places connect to the wider landscape of Lumsdale and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, which borders the Estate.

We highly recommend a visit to discover the Estate’s historic woodland for yourself. And if you're planning a walk, the community café, Milk Churn - located near the Social Club car park - makes a great start or end point!
